Tarlabaşı and Refik Saydam streets are one of the rare region in Istanbul in point of their unique historical buildings have been built in Levantine architecture style at the last period of the Ottomans (2nd half of the 19th Century). But unfortunately, these admirable buildings which perfectly shows that period’s characteristics, either completely vanished or mostly ruined due to dilapidation and bad treatment. For this reason, 300 buildings facing one another on the Tarlabaşı and Refik Saydam streets were taken in hand. Their facades were examined by using photogram metric method and were compared with archives and existing intact buildings.
